With Choate Woodworking the journey began 20 years ago, what started as crafting jewelry boxes evolved into a deep-seated desire to create something truly extraordinary: a Maloof-style rocking chair. In 2017, fate struck at a Woodworking show where I discovered the exceptional comfort of Hal Taylor designs.
Hal not only shared his plans but also opened the doors to his workshop, offering immersive classes where craftsmanship meets camaraderie. With each passing year, he refined the art, blending Maloof’s legacy with his innovations. In June 2018, I took a leap of faith, attending one of Hal’s transformative classes. And thus, my love affair with crafting the perfect rocking chair began.
